If your birthday is coming up, or perhaps you just feel like getting out of
the city for a day, then why not enjoy going on one of the famous Long
Island wine limo tours – which always proves to be a great adventure,
especially with friends and family! Some of the beautiful wineries and
vineyards that you will undoubtedly visit include the magnificent Castello
di Borghese Vineyard and Winery, which was first started in 1973, and is one
of the founding farms on this wine route. The wine that comes form this
vineyard is truly delicious, coming from the inherent knowledge of a family
of Italians!
One of the other common stops on the Long Island wine tours is at the
exquisite Pugliese Vineyards, which is where you will get to sample some of
the purest tasting wines that are grown, fermented and bottled on this farm.
There are gorgeous champagnes, rich ports and wines of all varieties that
have won awards! This vineyard was started in 1980, and is owned by a family
of wine connoisseurs, ensuring that your wine tasting experience will be one
of the best in the world! Some of the wines that are produced at this winery
include chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, riesling,
niagara and the tempting zinfandel and cabernet franc, and one of the
special features of this place is that they will happily personalize any
bottle’s label for you – making it the perfect gift for that special
someone!
The Old Field Vineyards is another wonderful place that you’ll see on any of
the Long Island wine limo tours. This ancient vineyard was established ion
the year of 1974, and is also owned by a family. Interestingly, this farm
was initially a farm of orchards, where fruits were sold at local markets,
and it was only much later that the family turned to wine making, selling
some beautiful pinot noirs, cabernet francs, merlots, chardonnays and blush
de noirs, as well as the more recent sparkling blanc de noir. Pindar
Vineyards will be another of your stops along the way, getting its’ name
from the magical Spartan poet, and was opened in 1979, with a mere 30 acres
of land.
The doctor who opened it spent a great deal of time cultivating this land to
perfection, and today the Pindar Vineyards are home to over 550 acres of
pristine land, being the largest vineyard in Long Island. Wine tasting to
this prestigious farm are always ones to remember, with the tasting of the
glorious cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, viognier and chardonnay.
Corey Creek Vineyards produces some magnificent wines that are unique in
character and hard to get your hands on, so buy as many bottles as you can
while you’re there! Some of their wines are the fresh Chablis chardonnay,
gewürztraminer, merlot, cabernet franc and “Domaines CC Rose”. Most of the
wines of the Corey Creek Vineyards are no longer made on site, but rather
through the Bedell winery.
