Long Island Vineyard Tours are staffed by friendly, knowledgeable locals, who are there to help you make the most of your visit. Founded by Louisa and Alex Hargrove in 1973, this couple had the foresight to recognize the potential of the North Fork of Long Island. Through research they realized that the maritime microclimate was remarkably similar to that of Bordeaux. Two years later, Long Island Vineyards released their first wines.
Today there are over 50 vineyards planted on approximately 3000 acres. The vines have matured to yield high quality similar to those used by French and Californian wine makers.
